Art has always been part of my life. I was immersed in childhood with my artist mother, collecting folk art with my husband, gardening, painting and now ceramic sculpture. I feel so lucky and blessed to be on this journey in life having no perfect roadmap or set destination. It is self-indulgence and self-entertainment at its finest! I think I’m hilarious! My sculptures are not preplanned, they are from some dark recess of my mind or some passing thought from yesterday. They are the result of a thousand experiments, kissing a lot of frogs and many hours spent daydreaming, as well as being productive. I work in clay fired to cone 5 or 6 so that the pieces can spend their winters outdoors — preferably covered in snow and offering a different prospective on the season. I spend a lot of time outdoors, gardening and hiking, and love how nature pushes and pulls my ideas.
Along with being an artist, I have been many things in my life: a farmer’s daughter, alpaca breeder, antiques dealer, clothing retailer, as well as a mother and grandmother.
